New to market is producer Michael LaFetra’s mid-century modern mansion, with a listing price of $10.295 million. The home was designed by Rex Lotery in 1960, when the architect was thirty years old. LaFetra, known for his collection of architecturally significant properties, bought the home in 2010 for $8.2 million. TheNew York Times wrote, “LaFetra collects houses the way some people collect art. It started innocently enough in 1999, with the acquisition of Pierre Koenig’s Case Study House #21.” He has been praised by the arts community for being one of the few private architectural preservationists — something many claim we need more of.

The five bedroom, four bath house sits on over an acre of lush and private grounds. A greenhouse and meditation garden are found secluded in the foliage, while the pool is surrounded with rolling lawns. LaFetra preserved the architectural integrity of the structure and thoughtfully updated the living space with modern amenities. The producer-turned-preservationist has other homes on the market as well, including R. M. Schindler’s How House, also with Cory Weiss.
